Weekly digest

Ask for this when: it's the end of the week and you want to know what got done and what's still hanging.

"Give me my weekly digest." "How did this week go?" "Friday summary, please."

What it shows you

A screen or less:

  • Done this week, through the assistant: emails filed, time entries created and the hours they add up to, emails sent, calendar entries added, and anything you undid. Then one line for the month so far - entries, hours captured, emails filed - so the week sits against the month. Hours are the durations you gave when the entries were made; it never estimates.
  • Still open: emails not yet in Clio (with mail from non-contacts counted separately), possible missing time by matter, and matters that have gone quiet - and for the longest-quiet one, an offer to draft a check-in email to the client. On a busy week this works from counts and the most recent unfiled emails, saying "and N more" rather than listing every one - ask for email filing review for the full list.
  • The three to five things most worth a look before the weekend, named.

Then it asks what, if anything, you want to do before the week ends.

What it can't do

  • It counts what went through the assistant on this computer. Filing or time you entered in Clio by hand isn't in the "done" numbers, though it does show up in what's still open, which reads Clio directly.
  • It takes no action. Anything you want done hands off to the filing or billing review.
